How do I submit my manuscript?
We accept submissions via email at info@kingsdaughterpublishing.com. Please ensure your manuscript is in Word or PDF format, and include a cover letter and a brief synopsis. We consider submissions that align with our publishing focus: celebrating the diverse voices of women writers, providing a platform for their creativity, and promoting gender equity in the literary world. We work primarily with women but will also consider work that is created for women and girls.
Do you accept unsolicited manuscripts?
Yes, we are happy to consider unsolicited manuscripts. However, please ensure your work aligns with our publishing focus: celebrating the diverse voices of women writers, providing a platform for their creativity, and promoting gender equity in the literary world. Although we primarily publish female authors, we will also consider work that is created for women and girls.
What genres do you publish?
We specialize in fiction, non-fiction, devotional and faith-based, children’s books, poetry, self-help, and non-technical writing. If your manuscript fits within these genres, we encourage you to submit.
How long does it take to hear back after submission?
Our typical response time is between 3-4 weeks. We receive many submissions, but we give each manuscript careful consideration. If you haven't heard back after this period, feel free to follow up.
Will I receive feedback on my manuscript if it's rejected?
Due to the volume of submissions, we are unable to provide detailed feedback on every manuscript. However, if we see potential in your work, we may offer some general suggestions for improvement.
Do I need to have an agent to get published?
No. All authors are welcome to submit a manuscript.
What are your royalty rates and advance payments?
You receive 100% of your royalties and will be able to monitor your sales directly.
I’m not familiar with the publishing process. Can you explain what happens after I submit my manuscript?
We work closely with our authors throughout the publishing process, including editing, design, printing, and distribution, to ensure the best possible outcome for your book.
What kind of marketing and promotion will my book receive?
We do not provide marketing or promotion services at this time.
Will my book be available in bookstores?
We work with major distributors to make your book available to online bookstores. While we cannot guarantee placement in every platform, we strive to ensure wide availability across multiple platforms.
Who owns the rights to my book?
You retain ownership of your intellectual property.
How involved will I be in the editing process?
You will be an integral part of the editing process. Our editors will provide professional guidance, but we believe in collaboration to ensure that your vision for the book is maintained.
